I saw some of the folks are getting real interested in putting longer miles, touring and ever longer distances....And I think the next phase would be the 1K ride
And part of the equipment upgrade will be bags/panniers.
For panniers and bags.. imho, the gold standard are the Ortliebs. I don't have one but I rode along one of my friends in the pouring rain andhis items were perfectly dry. He doesn't baby the bags and use them alot. They hold up well and if I were to do touring...this is what I will get... and I found this shop in the US that is on sale.. not sure it is the best price.
For the day ride type of guy-- like me... the handlerbar bag is pretty good. I saw it at Fall factor (opp. queensway) and it is pricey, but very very well made. u can even buy the camera inserts specially for DSLRs and cameras...
I saw this site having a promo.. and BTW I am not paid by them.. do go check if suitable and good price...
