quote

"Ms Abbott argued that if she fell from her bike while wearing a helmet she would be at greater risk of brain damage from ''diffuse external injury'', an injury similar to shaken baby syndrome, than if she fell on her bare head."

i think if you asked someone who has fallen off a bike before and knocked their head, everyone will tell you that they are glad they wore a helmet.

Holland is the home of bicycle. In fact it is a way of life. Bicycles are not regarded as just a sport.. it is like air... they do it without thinking and quite amazingly...their law do not require an helmet. I went there for work and it is really nice. U dont feel threatened on the roads like u do here in SG.
Google is a wonderful tool.. I googled and found this..

Just want to share another point of view... from a place that calls bicycle home
