04th Dec. 2011 Bishan Park, Potong Pasir PCN Ride and Beyond.

Hi,
How does cycling with the kids in the park, prata and maybe spot a monkey along the way sound?

We'll cycle in the new Bishan Park with its meadering waterways and bridges, make our way along the Kallang River PCN for the city view. On return to Bishan Park, if you're up to it, we may venture across to Lower Pierce Reservoir to "monkey" around.

If that makes you hungry we then go for prata.
Tentatively, we can visit Biddari Park if riders are comfortable to ride some sections of roads.

Date: 04th Dec. 2011 (this is running parallel to Pengarang ride, riders take note)

Time: 7:30am - 12pm+ (Breakfast Prata about 10am)
Meeting Place: Bishan MRT (Steven to pick up riders 7:15am) or Bishan Park MacDonalds
Parking: In Bishan Park, enter along AMK Ave 1, opposite Blk 316 between Bishan Rd and Marymount Rd.

Route: Bishan Park (start point) - Potong Pasir - Biddari Park - Bishan Park - Casuarina Curry - Lower Pierce Reservoir Park - Bishan Park (end point)
Total Distance: 27km
Speed: slow and easy (average 15-18km/hr), families suitable for children or bikes with kid trailers (tbc).

Sorry,I dun think trailers are suitable as there are 3 overhead bridges to cross.ive only crossed one,it is possible to push up on a thin ledge at the side,but not possible with trailer/cargo bike.parents with kids in seats may also want to take note,as well as kids who can't carry bikes up themselves.

Thanks for highlight, we will only ride partial Kallang River PCN to near Potong Pasir MRT before the overhead bridges and make a return to Bishan Park. Some traffic junctions along the ride but it should be manageable. The bridges on route I meant are in Bishan Park across the waterways, they are gentle slopes.

Hi Vince, I see u listed on Pengarang ride ard.

Ok...however there is one bridge over Braddel Rd,to PP PCN.and iiirc,there are concrete posts at one of the junctions which may prevent cargo bike from going thru.
Do take note on the bridges across the river way,I have seen aunty shouting at a young boy cycling on it.
Other point to note is young children,joggers,dogs n qigong groups in the park.
Other then that it'll be a wonderful ride
I stay just behind Bishan Park Macs haha.

Will be glad that you help out in the ride to guide riders (especially the kids).

Hi TC! Your phone numbers wrong! Pls correct, ok? And Vector is right about an overhead bridge which we need to push our bikes across (no need to carry) in order to cross over to Potong Pasir. But don't worry, we shall help anyone who have trouble pushing up the bike. Will update u after I recce tmr!

Tiger andnTiffany will be coming too!mand Tiffany will be riding her own bike this time since it's mostly PCN. It will be her maiden solo ride with LCSG!!

I will ask Chris Cycle to join us and help out too! He stays in Bishan too!

I onz..... will bring wife and daughter.
Since most of the "aggressive" looking uncle and untie are riding at Pengarang, think the group will be small, my girl will not feel so intimidated...... ha ha ha....
Previously I asked her after ride, she is happy but too many faces coming close to her to ask her "how are you?", "What is your name" and "How old are you", she did not feel good, so her final reply was too many uncles and unties..... LOL

Take care and hope to see you and your son for the ride. For chicken pox, I had it as a little boy but kenna again when I was taking care of my wife (she never had) so you and family take double care.
