Hi bikers,

I am riding a Dahon and it seems like my handle bar will not be aligned perpendicular with my front wheel after some short riding no matter how i have tighten it.

Do you all had this problem for those riding Dahon foldies too??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

it is a weakness in the design of the system.
What model are you riding?
There is a little play in the stem and affects certain models more especially those with adjustable stem height.
But, shouldn't be too major.
I am riding:
- Aeon (most pronounced) & Speed P8 - have this problem.
- Speed TR doesn't have the problem.

rgds,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. I am currently riding a Mu p8.
So is there something that we can do to improve on this issue?
Cos everynow and then i need to re-tighten the stem again.
Seems like Dahon really have to look into this design again.

You just got to tighten the clamp on the handlepost, to the point where it is as tight as you can make it. This will prevent twisting and misalignment of the handlebar.

bring your bike to the shop where you bought it from and let them know the issue..or if you stay near simei and trust me i can help you also..

i've been riding dahon for 5 years..i've encountered this problem but can be solved easily..definitely not a weakness in design..

Don't worry Heng,

We ride at a comfortable pace and never leave anyone behind.
The idea is to enjoy the ride together & have fun.
Pace is around 15-20km/hr.
We regroup at specifc points along the way if the group is large (for safety reasons, we can't ride as too large a group with 2 a breast etc).
If group is small say 4 or 5, we ride together. ;-)
So, hope to see you Sat nite & can have a look at your handle bar stem too.
rgds,
Mike
