25th Sept 2011 - Foldies unite and roam the City ride

Here's the idea. Meet at 25th Sept Orchard MRT between 10am-10.30am. We will ride a loop around Orchard Road and end at Syed Alwi Wanton noodle place Suggested mode of transport is MRT. Take ur foldie and bring into the train. Remember, it is foldies advocacy and not a confrontation. Be nice and make no trouble.

Meet point - Orchard MRT outside ION
Timing - 10am
Dress code: Red
Route - Orchard Road>> Waterloo street SAM Area >> City hall >> Wanton Mee at Syed Alwi.
Ride lead - GL and Clarence
other details - it is not just foldies... full size bikes are welcome.. just dont try the MRT for now.. meet at Start point

Pls note!!! at 10.30am- We will do the lovecycling pose - point left, look cool, freeze. For 1 min. At 1031, a whistle will sound and we will gather and ride towards Takashima >> Next stop will be at Singapore Art musum SAM.... once we there.. we can try out again. Watch for the whistle and pose! haha

Location: Orchard Rd Mrt

Time: 10am
Descriptions: We will take our foldie to MRT and timed to reach Orchard MRT between 10AM to 1030AM. We will meet at a location(to be confirm) and la kopi while waiting for all to reach. Once all is here, we will take a short ride around Orchard and all the way to Wantan mee(Clarence recommend de that one)
I need someone to standby at Orchard MRT to take photos and videos so that we can upload to YouTube.

Juz a reminder, Formula One during this period-- lotsa road closures and inconveniences abt town areas… not sure if it has any issue with our event…

Suggestion - since this is a foldie advocacy event, why not in that 1 min, fold up and unfold bike, to display the ease of deploying a foldie?

we (full bikers) will stand amongst the foldies, look bewildered and amazed when the foldies fold/unfold. then we will look at our own bikes and scratch our heads.

Since it's a foldie flash mob, it must involve folding the bike! Suggestion: Spread out across front of ION. Upon a whistle, everyone fold their bike. Once done, do Taiwoon pose. At 1 min after first whistle, another whistle will blow. Everyone unfold bike and ride off individually in a pre designated direction. Regroup somewhere else further away.
