- Hello .. Omegaforest & Twwoon,
Thank you for all your valuable information and very kind details. We will be arming ourselves with our camera and "hungry" stomach on this fully self-supported ride ...cycle cycle; see see; snap snap; eat eat... :D
It is our greatest delight to be allowed to join in your ride. Our riders are mostly with some good experience but may get lost cycling in Singapore and end up "wasting time" finding our way, although I don't think one can be lost in Singapore. It looks like we may be having "breakfast"; tea-breaks; lunch and possibly extend to early dinner along the routes ... on a Slow and steady Ride de Singapore.
We hope to be able to extend our Foldie Adventure outing activities to your members when any happened to be within our area too.
Looking forward to meet up & ride with all of you and also have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experience.
Thank you / Billy Hi Billy You are welcome. 1. If you or yr teammates have a Garmin. You can plot the route. 2. This route is not exactly scenic. The route is chosen because they have less traffic so safer for everyone. I do not want to give an impression that "this is Singapore" but it does bring u to the heartland and places that tourist do not visit. 3.We may not have time for long lunch and photo session. A typical 120km ride will take about 5-8 hours and we do not want to go into the nite. But you are free to ride at a slower pace. 4. How long will u be in SG? We can arrange for a more scenic ride too. Are you guys on foldies or full bike?

| Hello .. Omegaforest,
We are honored to be able to join your ride, and be able to go " .... to the heartland that tourist do not visit..." are actually the precious gem of a country ... not "spoiled and polluted" by "over commercialization". We are lucky indeed to have this opportunity.
We are very flexible, and also would not wish to waste time and hope to cover more places as much as possible.
Presently three of us as listed in the participation listing #25 Wey; #26 Ming & #27 Bil are scheduled to be in Singapore on the 30 June (Thursday) and plan to depart on 4 July (Monday). One of our purpose of this trip is to take the opportunity to ride round Singapore island, as we have been thinking of doing it for some time.
BTW, the participant list #32 Wey, may be a double count. We may be having one or two more buddies joining in. Will let you know as soon as they managed to get their leave approved.
Thank you for your kind offer for possible arranging more scenic rides, we can do that on other occasions and have some possible "exchange programs" too.
Best regards / Bil

| Hello people, With my "leisurely ride account" -- http://smallwheelsbigsmile.blogspot.com/2011/05/one-way-ticket-to-kluang-22nd-may-2011.html there seems to be a lot of comments that lovecycling should also do a long range event which I am not an expert on... anyway.... sooooo here goes.
Interest check on doing a "Ride de Singapore" in a relaxed way... This will not be a supported event, which means we do it "Commando" That the rider will have to bring all the gear/food/water. No support vehicle. We would stop about 40km at some petrol station, food centre(topup water, snacks) ... but short rest and push off. Long range riders, pls chip in with ur comments.
Foldies, MTB, road bike are all welcome. But I hope we can all ride as a group...slow and steady(20-22km).. how what say u?
Date:3rd July, Sunday Time: 0730, ECP Mac Donalds Route : From Matt....ECP, ride towards West coast road, Tuas, Woodlands... Rest points 1 Labrador or west coast park 2 tuas coffee shop 3 coffeeshop after Neo tiew 4 YISHUN coffeeshop 5 punggol coffeeshop 6 cv
pls see this http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/28033072/
Distance: 128km Pace: 20-22km/h Others: Bring lights(just in case u take long long time to finish), helmet, money, extra water bottle, deep heat, chap cream, power bars, banannas... Formation: pack of 5(commemorate the 5 crazy pple who rode from Kluang to SG) and make it safer, easier to manage I need to know ur bike type and speed u comfortable to ride long long... this will help me split the packs - example "Bike:Xtoor, Av speed 24Km/hr"
Onz 1) GL - Bike:Xtoor, Av speed 24Km/hr 2) Diane - "ride until cant ride anymore... then take taxi back" - "slowest group pls" 3) Vince- Urbano 5.0 with upgraded parts avg. spd 24km/h 4) Nick - "test my limit, ride until cannot... " "slowest group pls" 5) Adrian Wong - Bike Tyrell 6) Clarence - Gary fisher MTB 7) Mary Ang - Brompton 6 speed 18km/hr Darktimus - Dahon Speed P8 - Av 20-23km - will ride as long the bike and leg can go.. 9)boo - fat Trek MTB, 20kmh (downhill 35kmh no problem! haha) 10) Eddie(aka Cool dad/prodik) - Dahon P8 with duranos. 11) David (Dnka)-mtb or foldie though... will be at 20-22kmh 12) Ribena Bike: Dahon mu 24 Avg speed: 20-22km/hr 13) Hui Teng Bike: Dahon mu 24 Avg speed: 20-22km/hr 14) Francis: Fixie or maybe birdy - Avg speed 20-24km/hr 15) Bay : Brompton 3 speed. 20kmh (will push to be consistent) 16) Paul Wang Brompton 6 speed - 20km/hr 17) lirpadz - BF NWT, 20 km/h - special request " slowest group please" 18) BoonChun - Dahon Silvertip avg spd should be 23kmh 19) Derek ho - Brompton 2 speed, 20km/hr 20) Stanley 21) Hong - Flamingo F1- 20-23km/hr 22) Audrey Cheong - Dahon Speed Pro, wishful ave 20km/hr 23) Adriane lee - Brompton - slow as slow can be... "u live only once!" 24) Taiwoon - Alex moulton - 18km/hr... slow and steady...and survive 25) Wey - Flamingo London NX7, ave. speed 18kph 26) Ming - Flamingo London NX7, ave. speed 18kph 27) Bil - Brompton BWR 6 speed, ave. speed 20kp 28) Darren Siow - Cervelo, ave 23km/hr 29) Lun Cheak -Dahon P8 - ave 20km/hr 30) James - Scott hybrid, av speed- 25km/hr. | Hello everyone. I'm a friend of Adriane Lee. This is my first post here and I'm hoping to join this 128km event. Anyway, can I join in? If possible, would love to join the pack when they reach West Coast route. And I will try to go as far as my legs can take me. I'm riding a Dahon Speed p8. Though can ride at around 20km/h but would love to cruise at comfortable speed. Cheers Mike.
