Hi Rezal, Good to see u coming for ride! Have to highlight there'll be quite a few slopes and if you're taking the Trike, the climb may be tough...namely Mount Pleasant and Caldecott Hill. Alternatively, those not up to the climb can proceed along Joan Road to meet the rest at the foot hill Olive Road and Joan Road intersection. We can then proceed to MacRitchie. Another one is Toa Payoh Rise but thats short so can push if need to. We take it slow. No problem, will push or carry the Trike...there's always the way down See you, my friend!!

| TC, i suggest that we drop by another hidden bakery instead of Sing Hon Loong Bakery. reason is that the road is kinda squeeze and might not had the place to contain us...another thing is that we are able to skip a busy junction (safety )straight to whampoa market..
suggest we turn in @Ann Soon Hong Bird Shop. as for bah kut teh.. my personnel take is that the founder bah kut teh is kinda X and so so (not to mention a issue to contain the amount of riders.) got an alternative bah kut teh within 100m that is more worth it and founder bah kut teh dun open so early..

Hi Ming, Thanks and understand the concern. You're right, road in front of bakery is kinda busy just before junction... plan to actually stop before terrace houses to dismount and everyone walk pass bakery to cross junction to the bird shop. As for Founder Bak Kut Teh, we will only pass by enroute to see the terrace houses, no stops. On the way to Whampoa Mkt, theres another bakery after Prata shop if thats the one you mention, we stop at that one. We then park bikes in open space outside market next to road for makan. Quite a few Bak Kut Teh choices, theres one in front of bus stop next to birdshop. If you're up to it can lead those interested to your reccomendation as well. Whampoa Market is end ride and after makan I will proceed to Novena for those who want to go home from there. Others can continue ride own time own target. Glad you mention those places to let me know you're familiar with the area. Balestier is busy but worth the ride to see these places. Anything else please higtlight and I'll see u tmr. :-) Tah Ching

| Thanks to all who came for the Balestier ride this sunny morning (its pouring now in Punggol btw). Huge turnout, need to alter the itinerary, sorry to disappoint some for the missed attractions. Hope everyone enjoyed the tour and really appreciate the patience at difficult junctions, especially the sweepers and markers to keep everyone safe during ride. This is also a historical ride for LCSG when Woon Taiwoon, Francis Chu and myself made this ride our 1st Sunday ride before LCSG was conceived. So 3 cheers to more LCSG rides and ride safe. (repost from facebook). | |
