| Hello, Have you been looking for us? Oops, seems that the night owls have been elusive to some! Punggol Night Riders or PNR are a closed group in Facebook, so you have come down to ride and then ask Dean Tan or the other admins can add you to the Fb Group at the rides. If you would like to 'Ride The Night', come on down to Popeyes at Punggol (Tebing Lane) and join us for leisure rides to interesting places with food. Here's some ride info... Leisure Rides happen every Friday (except when it rains). The ride atmosphere is casual, open, and friendly with riders types ranging from beginners to accomplished riders. Though most ride foldies and mini-velos, all types of bikes are welcome! Leisure rides start and end at Punggol Popeyes, we start together and we end it together. Ride speed is about 20 km/h (plus-minus 5km/h according to group size and route). The routes are recce'd and planned with PCN and pavements in mind, but there might be small stretches of road use. White front light, Red back light, tire spares/ repair kits or cab fare home are necessary. Do follow all Road Traffic Rules and stop at red-man/ red traffic lights. Travel in single-file and refrain from overtaking within the convoy. Do not overtake the Lead Rider, and do echo the verbal warning signals from other riders in front/ back. Thank the Safety Riders who ride out fast ahead to help out at junctions, please listen to their safety instructions. Do remember to give Safety Riders room near the Lead, as well as space for them to pass on the the right. Enough time will be allocated to dining at the food destinations, so rides may end at 1.30am or later. Riders are free to break-off but do personally inform the Lead, Safeties, or Sweepers face-to-face. Bring your food wallets, enough water, and your smiles and good cheer to the ride! 10.00pm Socialisation and bike poisoning begins! 10.15pm Move to assemble at the PCN... 10.20pm ...Welcome newcomers & routine Safety Briefing, 10.25pm Roll the wheels!

Safety is in your own hands. While PNR safety riders are around to ensure safety, it is only as good as all individuals having the correct safety mindset and watching out for our own safety. Some points to note:
Do not overtake the ride leader. Please abide by the requests of safety riders and help to sound out any given warnings/instructions. Please comply with all traffic regulations at all times. When riding on the road or in confined spaces, cycle in single file. Night riding dictates mandatory, working front white lights and rear red lights. Keep the lights visible but not causing discomfort to riders, pedestrians and motorists Helmets, gloves and safety vests are not compulsory but recommended Bring your own tools and spares, or cab fare in the event that you can't continue a ride. No medication or prescription drugs will be handed out during any rides. If you need them, please supply your own. Accidents happen, and at any time. PNR does not guarantee anyone's safety. Participants agree not to hold PNR liable for any injuries, loss of property or in extreme cases, loss of life incurred during, enroute to or after the rides. Be punctual. We wait for slow riders, not late-comers PNR rider organisers reserve the right to turn down anyone from participating in our group rides if deemed to be unsuitable.

The Merdeka Ride Date: 9 August 2013 Time: 4:30 pm Meeting place: Popeye at Punggol #01-05/06, 10 Tebing Lane Our route of travel would be PGL Waterway > Hougang PCN > Defu Ave 1 > Paya Lebar > Balam PCN > Sims Ave > Kallang MCD (pitstop to ta-bao)* > Kampong Arung (PCN) > Tanjong Rhu > GBB. PS: Pls wear red or red and white T shirt, thanks!
Hi troopers! My dear fellow Singaporeans, both new and old, inducted or natively produced. PNR-LCSG are proud to present our feature presentation ride, The Merdeka Ride! 9 Aug represents an important day for our little island. 48 years ago, a man wept and he turned his anguish and TL into a formidable force of will, forging this island of practically nothing into a formidable economic powerhouse.
IMPORTANT DETAILS OF THE RIDE 1) we are traveling on the roads for the following sections: a) Defu Ave 1, Hougang Ave 3, Paya Lebar Way; b) Sims Ave 3; 2) rest of the way are either the PCN or pavements; 3) the usual caveats about riding on pavements apply; 4) Kallang MCD: a) we are stopping over to allow cyclists who wish to join us, to form up with us. Our ETA is about 1800 to 1815 hours. b) Those who wish to stop by to pick up some makan can do so. We would have a team who would be moving ahead to lead the non-tabaoers to the destination; Ta-baoers would be lead by a skeleton crew to the destination.
<<We advise that all riders pre-pack your makan.>> BUT MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL! We are not known for breaking the sound barrier during our rides, but we are not the slowest as well. Try to keep pace. If you cant agree with our pace and u wish to fall out of our convoy, our Constitution guarantees that liberty to all citizens! (Its national day after all) Let our safeties know so that they can relay it to our team.
Thank you! Lets have a great time!
