Ride Terms and conditions (PLS READ!!!!)

1) Be punctual. We wait for slow riders, not late-comers.
2) Ride will be canceled if heavy rain.
3) Bring your own spare tube or cab fare.
4) Wear a helmet / Proper covered shoes for your own safety
5) Those joining the ride, pls comply to ALL LTA rules on cycling on public road during the ride.
6) Strictly cycle in a single file on public roads unless overtaking.
7) Follow the lead rider and don’t over take. Inform lead and Sweeper if u leaving group
Help one an other, it is not a race. We get home as a team, suffer as a team
9) If there is a long gap from riders, pls inform lead rider and help to spread out to avoid break contact
10) Lead rider have right to stop rider from continuing if he deems the riders to be not in a condition to ride.
11) We reserve the rights to refuse any participation from any cyclist(s) at any point of time.
12) To instill and promote safety in cycling, we will not hesitate to "STRONGLY ADVISE" rider(s) who compromises safety on himself and/or the whole group during the ride.
13) We are just an informal group of cyclists, therefore none of us is liable or responsible for any accident or mishap that occurs to you during any of the rides we organise.

1) check Date of Expiry on your Passport must be after 10 Mar 2012. You still have 2 weeks time from now to renew if need to do so.
2) Advisble install a bike rack / carrier for your bag if you not done yet.
3) Bring only necessary items in your bag. Bring your own bath towel.
4) Change your S$ to RM$ before the ride date.
5) For your riding safety: No Helmet = No Ride

Reason why your pothole or not make no sense to me is the road conditions in S'pore have been deteriorating over the years.

Look at the photos which i've sent to LTA for rectification. Even buses dare not roll over this 'Himalayan Mt Range' & keep a safe distance away(cut into another lane by doing so). Is particularly dangerous to cyclists at night speeding down & not noticing it until too late.

What you are going to see is West Coast Highway beside baseball field of the Japanese Secondary School.


1st patch of deformity. This is just the appetizer for what lies ahead.


No idea how this small eruption occur which overlap up onto the yellow line. Not an issue for bigger tires but those on road bike slick tires might encounter 'hiccups' after 1st patch of deformity.


Main course of obstacle aka 'Himalayan Mt Range' viewed in same direction of traffic. Look at the 'lava flow'. Jln Buroh & West Coast Highway roundabout is just up ahead.


Look how the 'lava' spill over & cover the drain.


View of the 'mountain range' & 'depression' facing the direction of traffic.


This 'lone outcrop' is situated at the beginning of the flyover bridge along Commonwealth Ave West over the Ulu Pandan canal. It got a 'sister' diagonally opposite in the other direction at opposite end. This lone outcrop is just as if not more dangerous at night since is not as obvious as the 'Himalayan Mt range' it could cause a cyclist to lose control if tripped over it.


Long stretches of 'patches' (after laying pipes/cables) such as these are an inconvenience in recent years making for a somewhat rougher ride.

I seriously doubt the other riders encounter anything worse during their Kukup trip than this sibei jialat 'Himalayan Mt Range' on our S'pore road.

Lone outcrop is fixed as replied by LTA. I presume the 'Himalayan Mt Range' is fixed or will be fix soon.

Rest stop
will try to make it every 20km, depending riders condition on actual day (Clarence pls remember to sleep this time)

Food
will be provided by the resort upon reach till lunch the next day we leave (breakfast on first day and dinner on second day will be on our own along the route)

Checklist
1. You and your bike plus helmets, front and rear lights (the usual)
2. Spare tube, tools and pump for your bikes
3. Cash (SGD also can, there are money changers there)
4. Clothes for a night
5. Toiletries and towel
* Discs if you want (there are DVD and Karaoke set in the resort) *

Things there
1. Food and snacks
2. Massage
3. Kelong
4. Fireworks
5. Mahjong (in the resort)

Sorry mates ... I will chicken out ha ha ha coz I signed up We Run SG 10K and my running buddy is Monotine White ( Cindy ). Can't let go kite lah so I shall forego this ride lah sorry .
