Immigration
There is a proper immigration checkpoint at Changi Point Ferry Terminal as well as at Tanjung Pengelih/ Tg Pengelih (on the Malaysian side). Participants therefore MUST bring their passports along.


Bumboat:

Each bumboat takes 13 passengers (including the bikes) and will leave promptly at 7.00 am. Please be on time so that we can fill our 1 boat and leave the ferry terminal as early as possible. The boats shuttle to and from Changi Point and Tg Pengelih from between 7.00 am ( 12 Mar 2011, Saturday ) to about 3.00 pm ( 13 Mar 2011 , Sunday) .

The fare is $11.00 per passenger, (per trip) Please pay directly Mary Ang ( Mobile nos +65 972 565 95)

For your own safety, refrain from running around the boats or climbing onto the roof. Lifejackets are
available, although they need not be worn. The boat journey takes about 45 minutes.


Lodging:
RM$300.00 for 13 single bed with a nice living room (cost to be shared by no of riders )

"some details about the room..the hotel has 5 rooms per floor with a hall for us to talk cock after a long day of ride..one floor can accommodate 13 pax..3 rooms are with 1 double bed, 1 room with 2 double bed and 1 room with 1 double and 1 single bed.."



Biking to Sungai Renggit - > Desaru and back to Tg Pengelih jetty
Once at Tg Pengelih Ferry Terminal, a short safety briefing will be given. The majority will be riding from the jetty at Tg Pengelih to Sg Renggit for lunch (distance of 20 km one way). The road is a fully paved road by the coast with a kampong atmosphere with coconut trees and lots of fresh air.

Once in Sg Renggit, we shall head to a seafood restaurant for lunch. Please pay for your own meals.

Biking to Desaru

"Tougher" riders, we ride all the way to Desaru ( stay one night ) and on 13 Mar 2011 after breakfast we ride back to Sg Renggit (distance of 80 km).
The total distance for this route is about 100 km. This will be a challenging ride, with lots of hills to tackle closer to Desaru. This ride will be easy pace on foldable / mountain / or road bikes,
given that we don’t have time constraints. If you wish to join the "Toughers", you should be comfortable riding at between 20 to 25 km/h over a sustained period of 4 to 6 hours,
and have your own foldable / mountain or road bike.



Biking Safety
Kindly ride in a single file at all times, and keep a safe distance from the rider in front. Kindly ride in a single file at all times, and keep a safe distance from the rider in front. There is no safety or support vehicle accompanying us.

Taxis are available in the event of an emergency. Helmets are compulsory, all riders are highly encouraged to wear a helmet.

We will standby a first aid kit, and a bike repair kit/spare tubes for minor ailments. Kindly ensure that your bikes are tuned and bring along your personal repair kits and spare tubes.

In case of any emergency or problem, we shall contact each other by mobile phone.

What to bring
1. an appetite for fun and some exercise
2. valid passport
3. helmet (highly recommended).
4. water bottle/sunscreen/cap/sunglasses etc.
5. comfortable biking clothes / sportswear. Biking tights and dri-fit top are ideal. Running shoes
and Teva sandles are appropriate. Flip flops and sundresses are highly discouraged.
6. some Malaysian cash for food and drinks.
7. rain jacket/poncho, in case it rains while riding. The cheap $1 ponchos from the convenient stores
are fine.

2) Closing date : 10 Feb 2011
3) IF last min pull out, compensation is NOT allowed
(Then those who will be going will share your cost. The bumboat will be a good example. Then it will become unfair to them. )

Any compensation required if last minute pull out ? Not intentional but can be due to nature of job. If urgent business travel is needed, can only inform one week in advance. If no compensation, I will like to join. Is the route on highway ?

I don't think this is possible. Reason is simple - if you last min pull out and compensation is allowed, then those who will be going will share your cost. The bumboat will be a good example. Then it will become unfair to them. And moreover, you will be taking up the slot for those whom can make it.

Because this is RECCE Biking , we're going faster than the actual ride ( Date : 22 April & 23 April 2011).

The details as follow:-

Biking to Desaru

Good News ... Lodging is only R$300 for 13 beds with a nice living room ( contact given by Kian Leng from MBS)

I can't go on actual days unfortunately. Since I can't make it on the actual days, it might be better for me to sit out this recce ride. Might not be able to keep up, speed wise either. Thanks.

There's plenty of time to train till the recce ride.. Just ride more and you should be able to make it!
